Spanish demonstrative adjectives
Demonstrative adjectives show whether the noun is located near to or far from the speaker or writer in the space or time.
Spacial relationship with the speaker or writer:
aquí

este/esta/estos/estas |

aquel/aquella/aquellos/aquellas |
Temporal relationship with the speaker or writer:

Demonstrative adjectives agree in gender (masculine or feminine) and number (singular or plural).
- este libro (this book), esta camisa (this shirt), estos libros (these books), estas camisas (these shirts)
- ese coche (that car), esa casa (that house), esos coches (those cars), esas casas (those houses),
- aquel chico (that boy over there), aquella chica (that girl over there), aquellos chicos (thoswe boys over there), aquellas chicas (those girls over there).
